Candra Burns is a marketing, PR, & communications specialist who founded Talking Forests, a platform that bridges her passion for forestry and media. She focuses on promoting sustainable forest management and creating social media strategies for organizations in the forestry and natural resources sectors. Candra is also known for her work as a speaker, podcaster, & content creator, using her skills to amplify the voices of forestry professionals & educate people about the importance of forests.

Her journey began in Washington State, where she engaged with organizations like Habitat for Humanity and the Future Farmers of America (FFA) during high school. She later earned degrees in natural resources from Grays Harbor College and The Evergreen State College. Through internships and roles with organizations like the Society of American Foresters and Seattle Audubon, she developed a strong foundation in conservation and communications.

Candra started Talking Forests in 2016, offering social media management, content creation, and public speaking services to businesses and non-profits. She also hosts a podcast under the same name, discussing topics related to forestry, conservation, and outdoor sciences. Her work aims to bridge gaps in age, gender, and diversity in the forestry sector, and she has spoken internationally about both forestry and social media strategies.

Her journey has taken her across continents, from the historic forests of Europe to the heart of the American South, all in pursuit of powerful forest stories. While living & working in Europe, she documented sustainable forestry practices, innovative mass timber projects, and the global movement toward the use of renewable materials in construction. Her travels through countries like Poland and Germany gave her knowledge of how Europe integrates wood technology with modern architecture.

We mainly operate out of the Pacific Northwest, but can travel to your projects to document them anywhere!
