A Journey into Tillamook's Old Mass Timber Hangar
Just off the scenic Highway 101 on the Oregon coast, a structure of impossible scale dominates the landscape. It’s a silent giant, a relic from a world at war, and its sheer size inspires a mix of awe and perhaps a touch of shock. This is Hangar B of the former Naval Air Station Tillamook, now home to the Tillamook Air Museum.
France’s Tallest Wood Buildings to be Built on a City Block
The buildings on this block are made of mass timber. The main material used in this building will be cross laminated timber (CLT). The CLT wood is from an Austria company named KLH and Altibois came to the site and built all the walls in just seven weeks.
